This Austenitic Stainless Steel contains a very low carbon-chromium-nickel ratio, delivering good corrosion resistance and the capacity to be cold formed. It is highly resistant to intergranular corrosion and pitting as well as crevice corrosion, and has excellent weldability, good ductility, and satisfactory polishing ability.

Essential details

The steel grade 1.4307 (also called ASTM 304/ 304L – SS2333) is a general purpose stainless steel, called 18-8-steel, with good corrosion resistant, impact strength and formability.

The steel has improved machinability by MAXIVAL, and it is suitable for production of corrosion resistant products by machining. It has good corrosion resistance to uniform corrosion and to many slightly corrosive organic and inorganic chemicals. It is non-magnetic but may become somewhat magnetic after cold working and welding.
