Alloy 2205 is a ferritic-austenitic stainless steel used in situations that demand good corrosion resistance and strength. Also referred to as Grade 2205 Duplex, Avesta Sheffield 2205, and UNS 31803, some of the more critical design features of Alloy 2205 include:

• High resistance to stress corrosion cracking, fatigue, and erosion
• Higher heat conductivity and lower thermal expansion compared to austenitic steels
• Outstanding and uniform resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion
• Good sulfide stress corrosion cracking resistance
• Useful up to 600°F

• Fe 50.0% balance
• Cr 22-23.0%
• Ni 4.5-6.5%
• Mo 3-3.5%
• Mn 2.0% max
• Si 1.0% max
• N 0.14-0.20%
