Stainless steel 353MA boasts an austenitic structure and heat-resistant qualities. Its higher nickel content sets it apart from other steels, allowing it to withstand temperatures as high as 1150°C (2102°F) in air. However, temperatures below 950°C (1742°F) may reduce its temperature impact toughness.

Description

Essential details

353MA is an austenitic, chromium-nickel stainless steel of high performance in oxidizing, carburizing and nitriding environments. Its high creep strength meets the design requirements of steam cracking furnace tubes. The material's high content of nitrogen contributes to the high temperature strength.

353MA is an alloy with higher nickel content than the other steels. Max service temperature in air for this alloy is 1150°C; however, service below 950°C may cause reduced room temperature impact toughness.
