ASTM 317L - EN 1.4438

Alloy 317L is an ultra-low carbon adaptation of the 317 chromium-nickel austenitic variety. It integrates molybdenum, which enhances overall corrosion protection and increases resistance to pitting in chloride-containing solutions. It is not magnetic in the annealed state and can't be hardened through heat treatment, yet it will harden with cold working.

Essential details

1.4438 is an ultra-low carbon steel. It has good overall and local corrosion resistance. It has good formability and weldability. The alloy has high resistance to chemical attack of acid.
