UNS S31653 - EN 1.4429 is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel designed for superior corrosion resistance. This material provides excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, making it suitable for many challenging environments. Its corrosion resistance is similar to Alloy 904L, but with improved toughness and ductility.

Essential details

1.4429 is a stainless austenitic chromium-nickel-molybdenum steel with nitrogen addition. It is used in the pharmaceutical industry, in the chemical industry and in the petrochemical industry.

1.4429 is popularly known as AISI 316LN. This material has very good corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties and is weldable.
